Street medicine

Street medicine is a practice of healthcare that is centered on providing care to those experiencing homelessness in their environment and on their terms.

Street medicine is a community-oriented form of healthcare that recognizes the medical, social and political needs of people on the street.  Street medicine teams use a variety of approaches to meet the needs of the unhoused.    

 

They are an adapter to a healthcare system that wasn't designed for the unhoused and doesn't otherwise serve well.
